Dr. Anne E. Butler

I graduated from Iowa State University with a Baccalaureate in Animal Science and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1997 from veterinary school I went on to private practice under the supervision of a Board Certified Surgeon and two ABVP practitioners.

I have over 20 years of experience as a companion animal practitioner including owning and managing my own veterinary hospital in New Jersey for fifteen years. I am licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in the state of Maryland.

I have recently moved to the Northern Virginia area and I am available to provide relief services to small animal practices. My rates are $110 an hour for appointments only. If soft tissue surgery and procedures are also desired, then the hourly rate is $130 for the day. I am comfortable with many soft tissue surgeries and dental prophylactic procedures.

For bookings of less than 48 hours notice and bookings for holidays, including holiday weekends, the rate will be $140 an hour. There are no travel fees and no finder’s fee through an agency.

Having owned my own practice for fifteen years, I understand the importance of production. I also understand that this needs to be done carefully as the client needs to be part of the decision making process, resulting in confidence in your own practice. I further understand that the staff has to feel comfortable with the relief doctor. The staff is the best resource for understanding the clientele, patient history with behavior, and practice flow.

My goal is to adjust to your protocols and be a seamless asset to your practice. I do not wish to impose personal preferences; I only want to bridge the gap during the time that you step away.

I have managed a team to provide competent, caring service and I have high relationship and communication skills. I can provide that same competent, caring service to your clients and their animals.
